NOR's Top Ten Reads of 2019!!!
I cannot believe 2019 is coming to a close. I feel like this year flew by. So many things in my life have changed this year. At the beginning of the year, I started a new job. My life changed so much after that but for the good. This is the best job I have ever had in my life. The hubs and I just celebrated three years married, ALREADY! My long time bookstagrammer friend Amber and I joined forces and now run this blog together. I think 2019 overall was a good year and one of my best reading years in a long time.
At the end of last year, I told myself I wanted to be a little more organized with my reading and be more active on Goodreads and I was! I did something I never do and set myself a Goodreads Challenge Goal-- which is something I have never done in the past. In the past, I didn't like how people would get mad or upset if they didn't make their goal. I felt that it was stupid and that we read to enjoy it, have fun... after all, reading is suppose to bring us happiness, not stress. But something this year told me to set a goal, I found it to be a great tool to use in tracking my reading. I read a total of seventy books this year!
So as you can guess, it was extremely hard to narrow it down to just ten. I ended up with fifteen that I couldn't let go of... so I am doing something different this year. I have a top ten and a top five AUDIOBOOKS! That's another thing that changed a lot this year, I listened to so many audiobooks, the most I ever have. I discovered I love them and I love using them as a way to "reread" a book when I don't have time to actually do a reread.
This was a big reading year for me and I'm proud of myself. There will be some more changes coming to the Night Owl Reads in 2020. Watch for announcements to come after the new year! I hope everyone had a great 2019. Here is to a new year and a new decade! Cheers!
