Gypsy King by Devney Perry | REVIEW!!!!
Synopsis:
The former Tin Gypsy motorcycle club has everyone in Clifton Forge, Montana convinced they've locked their clubhouse doors and ripped off their patches. Everyone but Bryce Ryan. There's more happening at the club's garage than muscle car restorations and Harley rebuilds. Her instincts are screaming there's a story-- one she's going to tell.
As the new owner of the small town's newspaper, Bryce is hungry for more than birth announcements and obituaries. When a woman is brutally killed and all signs point to the Tin Gypsies, Bryce is determined to expose the club and their leader, Kingston "Dash" Slater, as murderers.
Bryce bests Dash match after match, disappointed her rugged and handsome opponent turns out to be an underwhelming adversary. Secrets are exposed. Truths defeat lies. Bryce is poised to win this battle in a landslide.
Then Dash breaks all the rules and tips the scales.
One kiss, and she's fighting to save more than just her story. She's fighting to save her heart from the Gypsy King.

My Review:
I buddied this one with my co-blogger and book bestie Amber. It is always fun reading together and talking back and forth throughout the day. This was my first read by Deveny. I have a lot of her other books but I received an ARC of this one and was excited about it. I was finally going to read a Devney Perry book. It does make me sad to say it wasn't my favorite. I enjoyed it, I did! But I did have my problems with it.
This is marketed as a MC romance and even though it is, I just felt like it could have used something more. Bryce is trying to find out why this motorcycle club disbanded and ends up finding herself caught up in a murder and the clubs past when it comes back to haunt them.
I loved Dash! He wasn't as alpha as I had hoped he would have been for being an MC's former President, but he is very lovable! But for being an MC romance, I wanted more! More action, more sex! The sex, just when I think, of yes, I want to see some Dash action, it fades to black! It erked me a little! There are times where I felt it dragged on a bit. Things were happening and we weren't getting answers.
I don't want to derail anyone from reading this. I say this all the time, someone could read this and see it in a completely different light than me. What fun would it be if we read the same books and had the same opinions? I encourage everyone to read this and then come back or find me on Instagram and talk about it.
I wanted to love this so much, but I just didn't get everything I wanted from it. There is a second book coming and since this has released, it has been said that we will get answers in book two. I do look forward to book two, I want those unanswered questions! I do hope to see more of Bryce and Dash as well!
3 Owls!
Amber's Review:
Bryce and Dash have fantastic chemistry that was explosive when they came together. It felt a little like enemies-to-lovers with some MC thrown in. However, this isn't the MC I was expecting. They have shut the MC down and are trying to live a law abiding life until one of them gets arrested for murder. Bryce and Dash reach a truce so they can help each other solve the case; Bryce for the newspaper and Dash to clear his father's name.
This was a good read and I'd definitely recommend! Especially chapter nine! When this book brought the heat, it was fantastic and I wish there had been more sexy times, but maybe that's just me? Great read overall though, especially if you like a thriller with some romance and sexual tension thrown in!
