Jock Road by Sara Ney | REVIEW!!!!

Synopsis:

EAT. SLEEP. FOOTBALL.

Those are Jackson Jennings, Jr's three mantras. His entire life, he's been a trained athlete with only one end-game: the Pro's. No girl's. No parties. No alcohol.

EAT. SLEEP. FOOTBALL.

Repeat.

Every Friday night, Triple J cruises the strip on campus, bored, lonely and conditioned not to party. But the night he meets Charlotte Edmonds on the side of the road, he wonders if his three mantras will ever be enough.

BIG. DUMB. JOCK.

Charlie has no time for Jackson's antics. Not when he's stealing her food or teases her to no end, making her tingle in all the right places. But if she's ever going to have a boyfriend, she'd choose one who isn't a Neanderthal. One with manners and actual time to spend with her. Not a hulking man-child who cruises the strip at night, in his Big. Dumb. Truck.

Review:

Another cute, fun jockey read from Sara Ney.

This one took me by surprise a little. I don't want to say why, because ya know, spoilers, but I was happy with this little surprise. It was different and something you don't see a lot in books. It was a role reversal and I loved it.

Jackson was so cute. He is the hunky football player on his way to the PROS but deep down is this big teddy bear. He has very strong feelings for the big guy he is and just wants to make everyone happy, his parents mostly, even if he isn't always happy.

Charlie is one of those lonesome girls who is kind of off to the sidelines. She just goes about her own business and is making her way through college. When her world collides with Jackson, it is so cute. She is a salty little thing at first but she warms up to Jackson.

With all that being said, I did only give it four stars and my reason that is because it does come to a point where Jackson annoyed me a little. He acted like a little girl. I don't want that to sound mean because to me it does, but dang, he just couldn't make up his mind and he kept thinking how his dad would act if he found out he disobeyed him. Seriously, he is a grown man, he can make his own decisions.

Other than that, it really is a cute read. I loved how much of a teddy bear Jackson was when it came to Charlie, and I really liked their banter. I also enjoyed when Charlie went to the football house and all the guys would want to hang out with them. They were all close and enjoyed when Charlie would come over. The pumpkin scene was awesome.

I can't wait to see what the next Jock book is going to be. I like Sara's fun, cute little reads. I recently met her, she is so much fun to talk to. There is something we talked about that I think would be a wicked cute scene. Maybe, just maybe, it will show up in one of her next books. Fingers crossed!
