Balance by Lucia Franco | REVIEW!!!
Synopsis:
Adrianna Rossi is no stranger to the rigorous demands required of her body. Years of pain and determination make her one of the best. Olympic glory is the ultimate goal, and she'll do anything to achieve it. Even if that means leaving home to attend World Cup Academy of Gymnastics, a training center that serves one purpose-- producing champions.
Perfection, precision, and dedication are required of his athletes. When two time Olympian Konstantin Kournakova is persuaded into training the young hopeful, he immediately regrets it. She doesn't come close to his high standards. As the relentless pursuit of her dream keeps her striving, a passion is ignited within him.
Kova's power and domination, coupled with Adrianna's fierce tenacity, reveal there is more for her body to learn. Every interaction can be misconstrued, but there's no mistaking the darkening of his gaze, the lingering of his touch, or the illicit image of his bare skin pressed against hers. Integrity is on the line. One toe off the beam and their forbidden desires could ruin everything they've worked for, throwing it all off balance.
Review:
"'That is the problem, I still want you, Ria.' He breathe into me and cupped my nape. 'I should not, but I do, and it is so fucking wrong and sick. And I love it.'"
After reading Hush, Hush, I had to pick up another Lucia Franco. I had been seeing a lot of other reviewers raving about the Off Balance Series before Hush, Hush released. Then reading Hush, Hush and the mood it left me in, I could not get it off my mind for weeks, I knew I had to pick up another Lucia Franco... and I am so glad I did.
I will not lie when I say I have become obsessed with this authors writing and stories. I devour them, and let me tell you, her books are not short reads by any means. Her books are anywhere before four hundred and six hundred page reads. For a slow reader that is a lot but once I start reading, I have a hard time stopping.
Balance, KOVA! OMG! Completely different from James and Hush, Hush. Balance is much more age gap and forbidden than Hush, Hush. It is so good because it is so bad. I am the type of girl who loves the forbidden bad girl type. Adrianna is young, but in no means stupid, she knows what she is doing and does not give a shit!
When she meets Kova, that attraction is there, even when they want to deny it, even when they try to ignore it, sometimes it is just something that can't be ignored. But in all honesty, they work very well together, their passion, drive, and determination for what they love is amazing, they feed off one another. The connection they share scorching and undeniable.
Kova is an ALPHA. No ifs, ands or buts. Lucia knows how to write them alphas, for sure. As much as both James and Kova are MAJOR alphas, they are on different ends of the spectrum. Kova is an athlete, is Russian and has a very don't give no shits attitude. He will say what he wants without thought, pushing the limit when he thinks it needs pushing.
I don't know what more I can say about this book, read this book, read this series, there are three out right now with a fourth and fifth book coming. I am currently reading book two, Execution right now, and hot damn, each book just kicks up another notch on the forbidden, alpha male dial. Kova is a Russian sex God! The scenes in this book will have your entire body engulfed in flames.
Again, this book might set some triggers for people. This book might not be for everyone. I understand that and you have to understand that going in to this book. As much as I want everyone to love this book as much as I do, I know that isn't going to happen. What fun would it be if everyone always loves the same books? What would we have to debate? You just need to go in with an open mind.
Lucia Franco-- this women, she blew my mind again. 5++++ stars.
