Raw by Belle Aurora | REVIEW!

Synopsis:

Growing up the way I did, you'd think I'd be more screwed up than what I actually am.
Soon as I turned sixteen, I left that bump in the road I called home and took my chances on the street.
Best decision I ever made.
Now, at the age of twenty six, I'm educated, employed and damn good at my job.
My friends have become my family. Like me, they know what it's like to grow up unloved.
But the saying is true.
The world makes way for those who know where they are going.
That's me.
I know where I'm going and I'll get there eventually. On my own terms and at my own pace.
But then there's him.
I feel his eyes on me. I see him hiding in plain sight. He watches me.
He makes me feel.
It's unconventional.
But it's real.

I'm sure you're wondering how a persona falls in love with their stalker.
So am I.

This isn't a story.

This is my life.

Review:

I reviewed this book five years ago now. I can't believe it has been that long. I just did a reread of it was fresh in my mind for when Rebirth released, which I also have received an ARC of and couldn't be more excited to read more of Lexi and Twitch!

Back over this past summer, I was one of the victims that fell into that Amazon scandal, they removed all my reviews without warning or notice, not even a reason why. But I emailed them and after nearly a month, they added back all my reviews, accept, some of them got lost in the mix of it all, my Raw review being one of the few.

So here I am now, rewriting my Raw review. After nearly five years since I first read it, I can tell you that my feelings did not change. I loved this book as much as I read it the first time. I did not remember parts of the book but as I read, I remembered with a smile on my face. I do have to admit that I loved the second half of the book more. There is one scene about fifty percent into the book that softened Twitch, you see a bit of a different side of him.

But damn, this book delves into some much more than what you first intend it to be. They both have a past, they both didn't have the best upbringings, which each have their secrets that will blow your mind at the end.

This is a dark romance. So dark, gritty things happen in this book. It is not your happy-go-lucky rom com romance. So prepare yourself. Twitch, you sometimes want to read through the book and slap him but damn, there are other times when your heart melts for the man. Lexi is a good character too. She falls for a man and sometimes that can't be help but you can see at times that she has her guard up. But both these broken souls break all their rules for each other. In a way, it almost proves love conquers all... if you believe in that kind of thing.
