Misadventures with a Professor by Sierra Simone | Review!!!
Synopsis:
Zandy Lynch never planned on going to grad school a virgin. So when her professor father finds her a job abroad as a research assistant the summer before she starts her master's program, she sees her chance. She's got one night in London to lose her V-card to a Mr. Darcy lookalike before she has to join some ancient professor in the country...
About Sierra Simone:
Sierra is a voracious reader of all things including the smuttiest smut, young adult, piles of non-fiction for research, and everything Bill Bryson (especially on audio). She loves writing the dirtiest things that she can think of, King Arthur, sparkling water, Tarot, coffee, leggings, and learning new words daily.
Her previous jobs have included firing ceramics, teaching living history lessons in one-room school house in full, 1908-approved school marm attire, and working as a librarian for several years-- not in that order.
She lives in the Kansas City area with her hot cop husband, two children, and two giant dogs. (And two cats, but they're so naughty we don't talk about them.)
My Review:
I have always enjoyed teacher/student books. Even though she isn't really his student, she is there working for him over the summer. But it is still taboo because this Professor is her fathers friend. I love how they met in London, how they just run into each other. A rainy night in London.
But one of my favorite parts is when she gets to the house she will be staying at all summer and what she discovers. It is amazing because you can kind of see it coming but at the same time you don't really know what is going to happen.
I hated that Oliver pushed her away for a while but when his walls finally crumbled, it was amazing seeing the man that came pushing out. He thinks that there is something wrong with him mainly because he is kinky. He has been made to think that because of one women from his past. I don't like that because if everyone acted like that, then why or when would anyone fall in love? Everyone is different... especially, every WOMEN is different. The fact that he bases every women on no bad one erked me. I loved the different setting, how different these characters, it was a nice change of pace. And very kinky and taboo.
Another thing that I appreciated. Sierra Simone is an author who writes and describes real women! Her women aren't skinny blondes. They are full figured women, who aren't perfect, they are flawed and have curves. I loved the feeling while reading because I am that women, I am flawed, I am a full figured women, I have curves, a small waist, wide hips, and heavy chested. It was a breath of fresh air to have an author bring that to light. Not all women are one size.
