Discussion: IGTV: The new Youtube?

How many people are into Instagram as much as I am? I am an Instagram addict! Some might say that is sad, addicted to the technology but I have had an Instagram account since it hit the seen back in 2012, coming in at almost 3,500 posts. Back then, there was no video posts, there was no Instagram Stories, you posted a picture and that was it. Instagram has evolved so much over the last six years.

Just a couple weeks ago, it released IGTV, Instagram Television. You can record video, not just stories that are thirty seconds long, but actual videos and post them to Instagram. If you have a Youtube, you can post your videos straight from your Youtube to your Instagram. Is it paving a whole new way for so many of us bloggers.

I am super excited for this. About six years ago, I made book review videos on Youtube, but there were things I didn't like about it, so making review videos were short lived. Back then, BookTube wasn't that big yet, it was hard to get the views, now, there are so many people making review videos, but BookTube is full of people who review YA, that a literary/romance review blogger like myself would have a hard time finding my way in the world of Young Adult.

My Instagram is full of women, and some men, who read the same books as I. So, I have decided to start making video reviews again and post them all to my IGTV. Now, nothing is going to change with my blog, I am not going to stop writing, all my reviews will still be written up and posted on all platforms. My video reviews will give me the chance to go more into depth on how I feel and talk with my other girls more.

What I am most excited for is being able to Vlog my reading, share my in the moment feelings, my favorite reading places. My reading Vlogs will be week long videos. I will Vlog for a week and post it once I feel it is ready to be posted. This is going to be so much fun and I am excited to post my first video review! It is a new month, I have a list of ARCs and other books I am excited to read. My first review will be going up within the next week.
