Synopsis:

Never trust a man who answers the front door wearing nothing more than a pair of low-cut jeans and a panty-melting smirk.

That should've been my first sign.

I write about guys just like him for a living-- sexy and charming, yet reluctant to get into a serious relationship. His body screams sex appeal, but his condescending personality makes him a classic fuckboy.

And I want nothing to do with that.

Writing romance novels comes with its perks-- traveling, meeting new people, creating characters from the voices in my head-- but Ethan Rochester enters my life and rearranges all my preconceived notions about writing that inspires you.

One week is all it took. One week to realize that not everything is as it seems.

One week with the bad boy, and I wanted more.

About the Authors:

Brooke Cumberland:
Website | Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | Newsletter

Brooke Cumberland is a USA Today Bestselling author who wears many hats on any given day. She also co-writes under the USA Today Bestselling Duo pseudonym, Kennedy Fox with her literary soul mate. She lives in the frozen tundra of Packer Nation with her husband, 6-year old wild child, and two teenage stepsons. When she's not writing, you can find her reading love stories, listening to music that inspires her, and laughing with her family. Brooke is addicted to Starbucks coffee, leggings, and naps. She found her passion for telling stories during winter break one year in grad school-- and she hasn't stopped since.

Lyra Parish:
Website | Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | Newsletter

Lyra Parish loves to write, glamp, and sing obnoxiously loud at the top of her lungs in the shower. Sweet love stories (along with the dirty ones) make her gush. She is a firm believer that a person can never have too many cups of coffee, cats, or happily ever afters. When she isn't busy writing with Brooke as Kennedy Fox, she can be found sipping various beverages from her non-alcoholic drink buffet, pimp slapping excel spreadsheets, or riding her bike. Lyra lives in Texas with her glassblowing, guitar-playing hubby and black cat named Nibbler.

My Review:

I am just gong to warn you now before you start this amazing book, grab a blanket, a nice hot coffee, maybe some snacks and settle in because once you start this book, you won't be able to put it down.

"'Please, Casanova. Enlighten me,' I say, taking a big gulp of coffee. 'Maybe it was that intense orgasm you gave yourself that helped you write all night.'"

Ethan is everything! He has that bad boy side to him but deep down he has so much more hiding. In fear of letting someone really seeing who he is, he hides. But something about Vada pulls him out of the shell he's been hiding under for the last five years.

He is sexy, bad, funny, sweet and sad at times. He knows what he's doing with his hands, and when I say that, I mean in more ways than one. There will be moments when you are crying, there will be moments when you are laughing so hard!

Vada has a past as well, she has serious trust issues due to past relationships. So when she meets Ethan, she puts him in that Bad Boy category, but they pull each other out of their old habits, pushing each others comfort zones. I love watching them pushing each others limits!

"Ethan's hand is leading me as we walk back into the main room and through the crowd. Women look over their shoulders at us and snicker, probably knowing what we were just doing. I'm sure I look as guilty as he does, but he wears it with no fucks given."

Now, these two ladies are the two ladies who write under the pseudonym Kennedy Fox. This book is totally different from the Checkmate Duet Series. But that holds no meaning to me because no matter what name these two ladies write under, no matter what they write, I will read and always love! These two ladies hold a special place in my heart and no matter what they write, I'll be there, ready and waiting.

As of right now, coming in 2018, there will be two more books coming to this series and I CANNOT WAIT! Ethan and Vada have left me in a book hangover!

5+ STARS! No Doubt!
