Fix Me Not by Carey Heywood | REVIEW!

Synopsis:

Paige Sullivan's life is a train wreck. In a matter of months she lost her business, her swanky apartment, and her big city life. Now she's stuck in Nowhere, New Hampshire, sleeping on her mom's couch. If that wasn't bad enough, she's forced to do odd jobs for money. She has a plan though, and once she's saved enough, she's out of there. That is, as long as she doesn't murder her sexy new employer first.

Asher Thompson is the ruggedly handsome hermit of the Thompson clan. Tall, ridiculously sexy despite his beard, and annoyingly aloof, his main concern is his privacy. He fills his days with his work as a carpenter and the peaceful solitude of his lake house. A peaceful solitude that vanished the moment Paige Sullivan stormed into his life, hell-bent on driving him crazy.

The problem is, opposites attract and each time they cross paths she works her way further under his skin.

My Review:

I think it is safe to say I loved it... but I am bias when it comes to Carey Heywood because I love everything she writes. I can pick up anything by Carey and get completely lost in her stories.

Asher was perfect. It did drive me a little crazy how closed off he was at the beginning but when you read more about him, you see that is just who he is. He feels uncomfortable around people after a long time period.

But what really drove me nuts was how they each judged each other before getting to now one another. Paige's mother Millie works for Asher once a week, bringing him groceries, collecting his mail and cleaning for him while he works in his workshop, getting orders out. Millie is very fond of Asher and always bragged about him all the time, driving Paige crazy. Asher thinks Paige is a spoiled, lazy, brat. That changes after a while, when they get to know each other.

I devoured this book and I loved reading more about Noah and Finley as well. At first I found Paige to be a bitch, but soon I realized she was just in a bad place and wasn't sure where her life was going at the age of 30. As soon as both Paige and Asher let down their guards around each other, a beautiful relationship bloomed.

My only problem with their story is that it all wrapped up too fast for me. I feel the ending was rushed, though I love how it ended, I just feel something was missing. I just wished for a little more.

4 stars!
