Seducing Lola by Jessica Prince | REVIEW!
Synopsis:
I've had my fair share of bad relationships. I've dated liars, cheaters, shoe fetishists, and everything in between. Sure, these experiences would make any woman cynical when it comes to dipping her toe back into the dating pool, but I used my past for good and made a career out of helping other women avoid going down the same paths I had.
And I was damn good at it.
Until a random act of fate set my life on a course I'd been avoiding for years, and put me in the crosshairs of a man that made me feel things I swore to never feel again.
Now I'm in his sights and it seems like he'll stop at nothing to seduce the hell out of me. He might hold my career in the palm of his hands, but if Grayson Lockhart thinks he can blackmail me into submission with his sexy voice and sexy hands and sexy everything, then he's.... probably right.
About Jessica:
Jessica was born and raised in Texas-- where she'll stay because she claims the cost of living in Texas excuses the god-awful weather. She is first and foremost a wife and mother. Because of those two things, she's also a self proclaimed wino and coffee addict.
She's always been an avid lover of all types of books, but romances are her main favorites. Jessica's husband likes to say reading is her obsession, but she likes to call it her passion... there's a difference.
My Review:
I don't know what I was expecting when I started this book. I tend to go into books blind, not really knowing a whole lot of the book. But honestly, I should have known better, it is Jessica Prince after all.
This is me finding a new book... "Okay, I know this author, let's read this." I rarely read blurbs or synopsis's. So when I started Seducing Lola, all I knew was I loved this author, I have reviewed for her many times in the past, so I knew I wasn't going to have a problem... and guess what, I didn't.
"You know that saying, "Fake it 'til you make it? Yeah, well, I'd never mastered the art of faking it."
I freaking loved this book! I loved these characters, what they stood for and their story. Grayson, he was just everything. When I read the first chapter, I figured, "here we go, playboy billionaire,' but boy was I wrong. He was just a man who wanted love, he wanted a women to wake up to and go to sleep next to every day and night. But he hadn't found that one yet... until he overhears a conversation between a women and her mother one morning in a Starbucks line, then again at work.
I completely fell in love with this story. I couldn't stop reading. I did take a while to read it, that wasn't because I just wasn't into it, no, I didn't want it to end. Grayson is just purely a man who wants more than just a work life and Lola, she is very stubborn. She has always barracked herself behind the walls she'd built around herself. But she has a reason why she hides behind her walls and honestly, it is a reason any girl would do what she did. But watching Grayson break those walls, it was awesome. He saw something special in her and refused to let it go.
"'Venti nonfat, no-whip white chocolate mocha Lola,' he spoke in that low, velvety voice. It would've been enough to induce shivers had he not been staring at me like he was trying to light me on fire with the powers of his mind."
This book was funny, had me laughing, A LOT! It was heartbreaking at times and just had me completely in love. I don't know if it's just me, but Jessica Prince, her books just get better and better, each one. I have my fingers crossed for more books in this world, in this series, with all these characters. It is very easy to relate and that's what makes it.
5 Stars!
