THROWBACK THURSDAY | 11/5

In honor of her latest book getting ready to release in the next few weeks, today for #ThrowbackThursday I am posting my first ARC review I ever did for author Harper Sloan! I loved this book, I love this series and I can't wait to see what she has in store for us with her next release.

My review for Beck:

This was the hardest book yet of the series... Well, it was for me.

Dee, a women who did not have the best childhood tells herself she'll never let herself fall in love or let anyone close enough to let herself get hurt. She has watched the people she loves go through heartbreaking troubles and tells herself that she will never go through that.

But when Beck walks into her life, her promise she made to herself becomes a mute point. As much as she tries to push him away, her heart says different. After years of push and pull, a huge change of events pulls her into the ultimate darkness.

This was the most difficult for me personally out of the series yet. Beck just steals your heart right off the bat and at times I wanted to punch Dee. From the very beginning you know all hell is going to break loose and it does. Dee lives in the past, she is so stuck on her childhood that she lets it affect her adulthood.

The beginning runs parallel to Axel, showing us Izzy's fight from Dee's eyes. It is scary to see how much Dee is affected by it.

Things move fast between Beck and Dee but she is determined to shut her heart down, pushing him away but that just fuels Beck's fire for this women, making him determined to show her not all people are bad.

**The sex is HOT! OMG! I was sitting in Starbucks in the mall reading the first major sex scene and was bursting laughing because I was in such a public place reading this amazing sex scene that would have panties anywhere scorching!**

"I stand by your side because this is where I’m meant to be. I stand by your side because you didn’t have the strength to hold yourself up. That’s what you do for the person you love."

"The day your drunk ass went on and on about how chocolate is better than sex, you had me hooked. "

"He smiles and it isn’t a smile of sadness. It’s one of acceptance. And right then and there, I know without a doubt that I don’t deserve this man, but I’ll fight like hell to be worthy of the love he’s offering. "

Dee puts on an act, hiding her true emotions from her best friends but it doesn't fool Beck and it just pushes him harder to make her see he isn't going anywhere.

This book is so emotional. You have been warned. You will laugh but you will also cry.

Beck is a living, breathing sex machine. He is a big bear with a big heart. He feels so much for this women that he refuses to give up on her. You will fall in love with this big man fast.

All the struggles and the sadness, it is still a beautiful story. It proves that love is the ultimate grace. It has the power to heal just about anything. As long as you believe and hold your loved ones close to your heart, nothing can harm you.

I give Beck 4**** stars. It was a tough book full of emotions that will have you laughing and crying at the same time... But leaves you craving for more!
