Discussion: Grey by E.L. James | Love it or Hate it
It has been one week since the highly acclaimed book Grey by E.L. James has released. For the last three years we the reader and fans have been asking for more books to the highly popular trilogy Fifty Shades of Grey.
After three years, E.L. James announced that she wrote the first book, Fifty Shades of Grey from Christian's point of view... basically making it like a companion novel to the first book of the trilogy. The fans went wild, making the pre-order list astronomical! I thought for sure as I waited for my copy to release into my Kindle at midnight Thursday morning that the internet was going to break.
That night I read the first chapter but stopped after one chapter. I have not read any of it since due to the fact that I have other books that make priority over Grey right now, sorry Christian... But I accidentally was scowling through my Goodreads news feed and caught sight of a couple reviews posted.
They weren't good... I mean one star not good. Now, I didn't let that phase me though. I have seen some good reviews as well. Everyone has their own opinion but I do plan on going into this book with my own thoughts. I refuse to let someone else's opinion sway my own... and for those of you who also have not read Grey yet and have been hearing and seeing mixed thoughts and feelings, I hope you take this story like I am and go into it with your own thoughts.
Don't let others spoil the fun for ya! I know I'm not.
She has since announced that she will be writing book two, Fifty Shades Darker (My favorite in the trilogy) in Christian's point of view.
Another topic that I'd like to discuss...
Jealous authors bashing E.L. James.
I shouldn't be shocked but I am. These are grown women talking down about another successful author. The author who paved the way for every other romance author in the last four years. She is a bestselling author, she is once again at the top of the charts, taking the championship title again. Oh well, she has loyal fans, you are going to talk her down because of that? Eventually the readers aren't going to want to read your books because of the way you act. Think before you act.
I congratulate E.L. James. You had a passion and a dream and you made it come true. I solute you!
