The Accidental Girlfriend by Emma Hart | REVIEW!!!

Synopsis:

Top Tip: Don't put out an online ad offering your services as a fake date. Someone will take you up on it. And it won't just be for one night.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how I ended up being Mason Jackson's fake girlfriend.

He didn't even want me to be. No-- his sister was solely responsible for me being his date for his ten-year high school reunion.

Now, she's responsible for telling his parents our relationship is real. We have no choice. We have to act like this isn't all a mistake, like it's not all fake, like we're totally, completely, utterly, head-over-heels in love with each other.

Simple, right?

Wrong.

My Review:

This has been my favorite Emma Hart book since Four Day Fling! Her last few books have been either a hit or a miss with me. But this one, I loved it. I loved the vibe of it, I loved the two main characters. Even though they did drive me crazy a little at the end when they were both just being stubborn as hell, but if at least one of Emma Hart's characters weren't stubborn, I'd think something was wrong.

This is the perfect book to pick up for a quick read on the beach. It is fast-paced, cute, witty, Mason is just sex on a stick and Lauren is a strong independent women. Great supporting characters. I loved everything about these characters, except the times when they were both completely stubborn! Lauren puts out the ad as a joke and a means to get her best friends off her back about her dating life but it completely backfires on her when Mason's sister actually responds and sets them up.

One of my favorite parts is when they first meet... to me that just sets the whole book. When you first see how the main characters interact with each other. Lauren and Mason were perfect. Mason's family was a hoot! But as much as I did love these characters together... the ending fell a little flat for me and for that I am giving it 4 stars.

The build-up was amazing, the angst, you could feel it as if you were living these characters lives... but once they finally cave and give in, after that it falls just a bit flat. I felt like I wanted more of a fight. Lauren was just a tad too stubborn and didn't want to own up to her true feelings for Mason, her friends had to push it out of her, telling her to stop denying it. She eventually does, but for whatever reason, a lot of Emma Hart's main females are like this and sometimes it makes me pull my hair. With that said, overall, I loved this one! It was the perfect summer read!

Side Note: Lauren Green! I can't help but think maybe Emma did that on purpose, I could be wrong. But Lauren Graham and Rachel Green??? One fictional and one very real, but both very female positive. Think about it.

4 Owls!
