Make You Mine by Tia Louise | REVIEW!

Synopsis:

A promise written on a coaster.
A lost night in a dark room.
Grayson Cole was my brother's best friend.
He was all of my firsts.
Then he went away...

Drew Harris was just a kids, a senior in high school, my best friend's little sister.
They said she was too young to know her feelings.
I was too old to have them, so I left to join the military.

Four years passed.
Loss, injury, angry words I can never take back...
I'm home, but I'm not the same.
Neither is she.

Now she's a woman with flashing blue eyes, long blonde hair, and gorgeous curves.
Still, she's the same sweet smile, the same sassy mouth...
I could never say No to her before.

I should for her sake.
She deserves better than what I've become, scarred and damaged.

"They told me to stay away from you.
I went away to try, God, I tried.
Now everything has changed. I'm back, and
I'll do whatever it takes to make you mine..."

My Review:

I have been a Tia Louise lover since I reviewed her first book for her, damn, like nearly five years ago, if not more than five years ago now. Her co-written book with Ilsa Madden-Mills The Right Stud actually made my top ten list of  2018. It was so funny and a fast paced read, I thought about it all year and hope to see more of that world in the new year!

But... Make You Mine was not my favorite of hers. It makes me sad. It was a good book, I'm not saying it isn't, it just wasn't my cup of tea. I am not big on war stories, I think I have talked about this before on my Instagram stories not long ago. They tend to bother me. They hurt my heart and it's just something I don't want to read about. There is a scene that was super hard for me and it just made me sad, I can still feel it in my chest, my heart beating so hard and fast.

That being said, I didn't hate it, but I didn't like that scene and the aftermath of it hurt so much. But the romance story side was amazing, as always! You can feel the connection between the two main characters. Gray tried to stay away from Drew, part of the rest why he left for the military but when someone is your soulmate, when you feel it in your heart no matter how many thousand of miles away you are, that is something that is never going to go away.

These characters are both strong willed and will not let anything stand in their way, no matter how much the past tries to interfere, and trust me, it does, they find their way back to each other every time. I did not care for the war story part, but I loved these characters and the power of their love they held for one another.

Louise has that magic in her writing to make you feel what her characters are feeling. It is something I have since day one loved about her writing. When she wants you to feel, she will grip you by the heart and not let go until she is ready. When you read one of her books, she holds all the power. You have been warned.
