Enticing Daphne by Jessica Prince | REVIEW!
Synopsis:
It's easy to stop believing in happily ever afters when the man you thought you'd spend the rest of your life with abandons you right before your wedding day. After that disastrous event I decided that commitment was for suckers. I was young, successful, and in the prime of my life.
I didn't need a man to make me happy.
Then an unexpected blast from the past came waltzing into my studio and decided I was a challenge he was more than willing to accept. The only problem is that he doesn't remember he's met me before.
He's the ultimate playboy, determined to stop at nothing until he entices the hell out of me. But if Caleb McMannus thinks he can lure me in with his sinful looks and silver tongue, then he's... probably right.
About Jessica:
Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | Website | Goodreads | AAP
Jessica was born and raised in Texas- where she'll stay because she claims the cost of living in Texas excuses the god-awful weather. She is first and foremost a wife and mother. Because of those two things, she's also a self proclaimed wino and coffee addict.
She's always been an avid lover of all types of books, but romances are her main favorites. Jessica's husband likes to say reading is her obsession, but she likes to call it her passion... there's a difference.
My Review:
**I would suggest to read this series in order! Here are my reviews for Seducing Lola and Tempting Sophia.**
Seducing Lola
Tempting Sophia
I loved Daphne. I feel her and Caleb's story was done better than Sophia and Dominic's. I loved reading about the previous two couples. Jessica is always really good about weaving all her characters together and setting up he next story.
I loved Caleb because he knew how to push Daphne's buttons, just enough to get her going. My only issue is I feel there was a little disconnection with the reader on when Daphne went from wanting a no strings attached relationship to being in love. There are really no signs of this. You are reading, you can feel she likes him but there is no monumental moment when it is realized. She doesn't even say to herself she loves him, she just comes out and tells him and it's like, wait, where was that moment. That is the only time I felt a disconnection.
The one and only thing I kind of had a problem with was how long she kept everything from her best friends, they were all kind of blindsided at the last moment. Other than that, I loved Daphne and Caleb's story. It is sweet, sexy, and as always with the ladies of Girl Talk, very entertaining. I can't wait for Deacon and Fiona, but saddened to see this series come to an end.
4 sexy stars for Caleb and Daph!
