Fifty Shades Darker by E.L. James | MOVIE REVIEW!

So, I finally saw it. I didn't go right away, even though I wanted to but I had to talk my husband into taking me, these aren't his favorite movies but I didn't let up on it so he gave in!

I liked it, (the but is coming), but... it wasn't as good as the first movie, which really upsets me! Why you say? When I read the books, the second book took over my mind, body and soul. We saw a totally different side of Christian Grey. We got to see more of him and his childhood and why he is the way he is. He opened up to Ana.

We got a glimpse of that in the movie but it didn't go as deep as I'd hoped. I really did enjoy the movie and I'll watch it again, and again, and again, but I feel it was rushed. That is my biggest problem, it just jumped from scene to scene, with no break to digest what was happening. Unlike in the first movie, there was none of the funny, klutzy Ana, her comedic relief in the first movie was awesome and had perfect timing, she had none of that in Darker. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the movie, happy to see it on screen and the music was on point, but there were scenes I just wish I got more of.

The Lelia and Jack Hyde parts were great! They really made the roles perfect and exactly how I pictured them. The Charlie Tango scene was not that believable only for one part, they are all at his house watching the news coverage and the TV says, "Christian Grey has been found," then the elevator doors open up and he steps out, just doesn't seem realistic. Jose's art showing was good, I enjoyed that. The Mrs. Robinson scenes were okay, she did her part, she was a bitch and got what was coming to her from Dr. Grey. The masquerade ball was excellent, I really enjoyed those scenes.

Let's get down to what Fifty is really all about.... the SEX!

Damn, was completely disappointed, I can't lie. These books are based off a character, a male, who is fucked up and is into BDSM. Now, in Darker, the sex, the BDSM does tone down a bit, but the sex scenes in the movie were down right boring vanilla! I completely expected more. If I recall, there are scenes in the Red Room of Pain in the book, but again, a bit softer, there was hardly any scenes with the Red Room. None of the Christian Grey phrases, "Aim to Please," "Twitching palm," none of them! Not even "Later's Baby," which I have to say is the most popular one!

I just wished for more since it was my favorite book of the trilogy.

*3 twitchy palms*
