T5W | Books I Read In One Sitting
This week's Top 5 Wednesday is Books I've read in one sitting. I have a few of those, even though I am not a fast reader, there are some books I have finished in one sitting or in most cases, one day.
#5
I finished this book within 24 hours. I did stop a little to get something to eat but I stayed up that night finishing it because I couldn't put it down!
The Girl in 6E by Alessandra Torre
This was Alessandra Torre's first book! I read it when it first came out, the first edition! I now have both editions. I loved this book! I read this book while I lived in Maryland back in 2013.
Synopsis:
My life, inside this apartment is simple. It works, as long as I follow the rules.
1. Don't leave the apartment. Not in case of fire, not to mail a letter, not to run an errand. The door stays shut, and I stay inside.
2. Don't get attached to clients. I take off my clothes, I stand in front of the camera, and I perform. What they want, I give. Their secrets, I keep. Everything I tell them, is a lie.
3. Don't kill anyone. I've obeyed that rule for over three years.
My life, inside this apartment was simple, and it worked. Then, I started breaking rules.

The same as The Girl in 6E! I read this book in a matter of a day! I had read the prologue a week before but the actual day I started it, I finished it... And also making my T5W for the second week in a row is....
Down to You by M. Leighton
This was a first time read for me by this author and she had me hooked! I started this book early in the morning, breaked for lunch then decided to walk down to my Dunkin Dounts and finished it there. Another read I couldn't put down. Another book that I read while I lived down in Maryland back in 2013.
Synopsis:
One girl. Twin brothers. An uncommon triangle.
When college student Olivia Townsend returned home to help her father run his business, she never imagined a complication like Cash and Nash Davenport—twin brothers different in so many ways but with one thing in common: an uncontrollable desire for Olivia.
Cash is dangerous, sexy, and bad to the bone—a man whose kisses make Olivia forget she is playing with fire. Nash is successful, reliable and intensely passionate—and already taken. But all it takes is one soft stroke to make Olivia forget he belongs to someone else.
However, Olivia is in for a surprise. These boys have a secret that should make her run away as far and as fast as she can. If only it wasn’t too late. A sensual game between three players has begun, and it’s about to spin deliriously out of control.

This book is a second book in the series... Even though I read the first book in a couple of days, I read this book in one day!
Fifty Shades Darker by E.L. James!
I was really engrossed in this series. I read the first book in a couple of days between working and other life things. I finished book one at like 10pm, I couldn't believe the major cliffhanger that I went into the Kindle Store and one-clicked Fifty Shades Darker and started it that night. Lets just say that by 8am the next morning I was finished. This is my favorite book of the series! This again was a book I read while I lived in Maryland and read back in May of 2013. I read this series in a week!
Synopsis:
Daunted by the singular tastes and dark secrets of the beautiful, tormented young entrepreneur Christian Grey, Anastasia Steele has broken off their relationship to start a new career with a Seattle publishing house.
But desire for Christian still dominates her every waking thought, and when he proposes a new arrangement, Anastasia cannot resist. They rekindle their searing sensual affair, and Anastasia learns more about the harrowing past of her damaged, driven and demanding Fifty Shades.
While Christian wrestles with his inner demons, Anastasia must confront the anger and envy of the women who came before her, and make the most important decision of her life.

I read this book back in the fall of 2008. I hadn't really heard much about this book until that summer when one of the girls who lived in the apartment building next to me told me about it. I bought the first two books of the series but they sat on my bookshelf that whole summer. It wasn't until I found out it was being made into a movie that I finally kicked myself in the ass and decided to read it.
It was a rainy fall day, mid-afternoon. I cuddle in my bed and read this book right there, all in one sitting without stopping. I finished it that night, I read right through dinner! My dad had to put a plate aside for me because I couldn't stop reading!
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer!
I finished this book in the matter of seven hours! I loved it. I wish the movie was as good as the book, but it wasn't. There were so many scenes I wanted to see on the big screen that they left out. The books are WAY better! The book is ALWAYS better!
Synopsis:
Isabella Swan's move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Isabella's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Isabella, the person Edward holds most dear. The lovers find themselves balanced precariously on the point of a knife-between desire and danger.Deeply romantic and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight captures the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires. This is a love story with bite.
#1!!!
This book is the third in a series. My favorite series of all time and a series that will always be marked as a part of history from my childhood!
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling!
I was in fifth grade when the first book was released. Our teacher introduced us to it. Before I knew it every kid in my class was reading it. To this day, 27 years old, I can still remember my dad taking me to Walden's Books to buy it!
I read this book much later but again, my dad bought it for me! My dad bought me all the Harry Potter books! He called me his little Night Owl... which is where my blog name comes from. It started with this series, where I was old enough to stay up late reading, which I did ALL THE TIME! I started Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban one evening after dinner. I had already read the book and I had read the Sorcerer's Stone and Chamber of Secrets numberous times but I was in the mood to read Prisoner of Azkaban. I started it around 6pm and finished it somewhere around 3am! This is my favorite Harry Potter book! I was disappointed with the movie... It is not my favorite movie but it is my favorite book and still my favorite series!
Synopsis:
For twelve long years, the dread fortress of Azkaban held an infamous prisoner named Sirius Black. Convicted of killing thirteen people with a single curse, he was said to be the heir apparent to the Dark Lord, Voldemort, and might even have assisted in the deaths of James and Lily Potter—Harry Potter’s parents.
Now Black has escaped, leaving only two clues as to where he might be headed: Harry Potter's defeat of You-Know-Who was Black's downfall as well. And the Azkaban guards heard him muttering in his sleep, "He’s at Hogwarts... he’s at Hogwarts."
Of course, Harry already had plenty to worry about. After inflating his nasty aunt and running away on the magical Knight Bus, he finds he’s being pursued by death omens at every turn. He receives two wonderful gifts: a top-of-the-line Firebolt broomstick, and the Marauder’s Map, a magical diagram of Hogwarts made by the mysterious “Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs.” Hermione disappears frequently, burdened down by a seemingly impossible course schedule. And the soulless Dementors have come to guard Hogwarts—supposedly to protect Harry from Sirius Black, but they terrify Harry more than the fugitive ever could.
To strengthen himself against them, Harry reaches out to Remus Lupin, the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher who was once a friend of his father’s. Lupin teaches Harry about the Patronus Charm, a defensive measure well above the level of magic generally mastered by wizards Harry’s age. But even with his broom, his map, his magic, and his loyal friends, Harry isn't safe.
Because on top of everything else, there’s a traitor hidden at Hogwarts...
